Did you know NurseBands was created specifically for nurses, hence the title? As a nurse, I feel our recognition wavers. From May 6-12th, we get a little bit of recognition - some food, a few discounts, and then it's back to our regularly scheduled program. The longest praise and recognition we received was during the 2020 pandemic, and some of us deal with horrid conditions on a regular basis. This isn't a "woe is nurses" rant, because we love what we do, or we wouldn't continue - well, most of us, lol.
Nurses and aspiring nurses, as we are celebrated this week, remember that what you do isn't easy, and never let anyone make you feel like just because you chose this career, that's all you deserve. You are a first responder and you deserve daily recognition - that is our mission at NurseBands. Now, give me grace as I am currently a one-man army, but as the brand grows, I promise to make sure nurses are honored more. My first order of business is providing scholarships to student nurses. Once we build more brand awareness, NurseBands will be like FIGS to the nursing community. Mark my words.
